The San Francisco Ballet School is also at home with the company. Helgi Tomasson also serves as the director for the school.

Future star performers are cultivated within the school, as they stress teaching technique and offer the opportunity for real stage experience.

Each prospective student must audition before being accepted into the school, but for children ten years old and younger there is no prior ballet training required. henderit qui in ea voluptate velit esse quam nihil mo.

A small number of scholarships are available to students, based on the combined factors of financial need and student merit.

Dance Education in the Community

In an effort to reach out to the community, the San Francisco Ballet Center for Dance Education provides numerous events throughout the year. These events are offered to schools, seniors, hospitals, and the general public. A thriving success, thousands of people turn out for the community events each year. Some of these activities include adult dance education and community dance matinee performances. During the summer, the company hosts a Community Circle Dance Camp for students in the ages of seven to fourteen. Children can experience and enjoy the art of dance as they complete dance lessons in numerous styles throughout the week-long camp session.
